Allen Moseley
Chairman of the Board of Directors
Allen Moseley, a General Partner at Noro-Moseley Partners in Atlanta, Georgia, servesas Chairman of the Board of Directors of Diabetes Care Group. Mr. Moseley has been with Noro-Moseley Partners (NMP) since 1998 and leads the firm’s health care practice, which is focused primarily on health care services, health care information technology and medical devices. He currently represents NMP on the boards of Bloodhound, Diabetes Care Group, Inc., RemitDATA, Renal CarePartners, Senior Whole Health, U.S. Radiosurgery and Valor Healthcare.
Prior to joining NMP, Mr. Moseley was with The Robinson-Humphrey Company, an investment banking firm previously owned by Citigroup and most recently acquired by SunTrust. There, he worked extensively in the health care and business services industries, advising on several initial public offerings, M&A transactions and private placements. He was also associated with R-H Capital Partners, the private equity investment arm of the firm. Previously, Mr. Moseley held investment banking positions with Bowles, Hollowell, Conner & Company and Merrill Lynch.
Mr. Moseley was recently Chairman of Venture Atlanta and Chairman of the Technology Association of Georgia, the state’s largest entrepreneur-focused organization. He has also served on the board of North Carolina’s Council for Entrepreneurial Development, one of the largest entrepreneur organizations in the country, and is a member of the Nashville Healthcare Council. Mr. Moseley earned a bachelors degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Marshall J. Bouldin, IV, M.D.
Marshall Bouldin, M.D., the Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Diabetes Care Group, serves as Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board. He was formerly Chief Medical Officer of the Delta Health Alliance, a federally funded not-for-profit corporation responsible for improving health and wellness in the Mississippi Delta region. He was also Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he was Director of the University of Mississippi Diabetes and Metabolism Center and founded and directed the Delta Diabetes Project, sponsored by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Delta Health Alliance, and the University of Mississippi Medical Center. From 1991 through 1999, Dr. Bouldin practiced internal medicine in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi and his M.D. degree from Johns Hopkins. He was a resident in internal medicine at the University of Virginia. He was also awarded a bachelor’s degree from Oxford University where he was a Rhodes Scholar.
J. Kane Ditto
Kane Ditto is the owner of StateStreet Group, L.L.C., a real estate development company, and is a principal in three companies in the manufactured housing business. He started StateStreet Group in 1971. Mr. Ditto served as Mayor of the City of Jackson from July 1989 until July 1997. He was elected to the Mississippi House of Representatives from District 66, where he served from 1987 to 1989. He was chosen for Leadership Mississippi in 1976, and graduated from the first class of Leadership Jackson in 1987. Before entering politics, Mr. Ditto practiced law for 18 years with Watkins, Ludlam, Winter & Stennis in Jackson. For five years he was managing partner of the firm. As a practicing attorney, his practice developed a heavy emphasis in municipal finance.
Mr. Ditto presently serves as President of the Board of Trustees of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History and serves on the board of the following: Community Foundation of Greater Jackson, Willowood Development Center, Central Mississippi Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Mississippi Baptist Health Systems and Mississippi College Foundation. Mr. Ditto earned a bachelors degree from Duke University and a law degree from Vanderbilt University. He and his wife, the former Betsy Martin, have four children and nine grandchildren.
Harry R. Jacobson, M.D.
Prior to co-founding TriStar, Dr. Jacobson was Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs at Vanderbilt University and the CEO of Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). VUMC consists of a Medical School, Nursing School, and a health care system. During Dr. Jacobson's 11+ year tenure, VUMC revenues grew from $750 million to $2.5 billion, its Federally-funded (NIH) research program moved from 24th to the top 10 in the country, it opened over $1 billion of newly constructed facilities, it was recognized as a "most-wired" hospital as well as a U. S. News and World Report honor-roll hospital, and, most recently, as a Fortune 100 top place to work.
Dr. Jacobson has been a successful investor and entrepreneur having founded or co-founded ten companies. In addition, in his role at VUMC he participated in the oversight of technology transfer operations which resulted in the creation of over 30 companies. Notable co-founded companies include Contact Software (the developer of Act!, the world's leading contact management software), acquired by Symantec (SYMC:NASDAQ); Renal Care Group (RCG:NYSE), a leading dialysis service company, acquired recently by Fresenius (FMS:NYSE); Ambulatory Services of America (currently privately held), a diversified outpatient ancillary services provider, currently providing dialysis and radiation oncology services; CeloNova Biosciences, a medical device company with 2 CE-approved and IFDA-approved products (coronary stent and embolic microspheres). Dr. Jacobson has been both a formal and informal advisor to several venture and private equity funds. Currently he serves on the Board of Directors of Kinetic Concepts (KCI:NYSE) and Merck (MRK:NYSE), as well as Device Innovation Group and Diabetes Care Group, which are two of TriStar's portfolio companies. In 2002 he was named the Ernst and Young Southeast Entrepreneur of the Year and was recently ranked No. 35 on Modern Physician’s ranking of the 50 Most Powerful Physician Executives in Healthcare.
Spence McClelland
Spence McClelland joined NMP in 2010 and supports the firm’s investments in healthcare, software and tech-enabled services. Spence is focused on reviewing investment opportunities and on working with portfolio company management teams to develop and execute their strategic plans. He currently represents NMP on the board of Diabetes Care Group, and serves as a board observer for Acumen Brands and Wellcentive.
Prior to joining NMP, Spence was a co-founder of RGC Advisors, a search firm in the home health industry. Previously, he worked in the corporate development group of Healthways, Inc., where he was responsible for identifying, evaluating and executing acquisitions and strategic partnerships for the company. In addition, he developed numerous business plans on potential new markets, channels and business models for the company’s solutions. Prior to joining Healthways, Spence was an associate with the private equity firm Willis Stein & Partners, where he supported investment decisions through extensive due diligence and analysis while also assisting portfolio company management teams with strategic planning. He has also held investment banking positions with J.C. Bradford & Co. and DLJ / Credit Suisse First Boston.
Spence received a BA from Vanderbilt University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and an MBA with distinction from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Austin Triggs
Austin Triggs is President of the Company. He was formerly Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer at Renal Care Group, Inc., a public health care Company, from May 1996 through May 2005. At Renal Care Group, he had primary responsibility for acquiring dialysis programs and developing joint ventures with physicians, hospitals, and university medical centers as well as other mergers and acquisitions. Following RCG, he worked as an advisor to academic medical centers, an international health care company, and private equity funds.
From 1991 until joining RCG in 1996, he served as a senior executive and board member at companies providing general and specialized home care services and occupational medical services. He is a graduate of Duke University and the University of Mississippi School of Law. His prior civic activities include serving as chair of the advisory board of the Duke University Institute on Care at the End of Life, principal adviser to the Center for Spirituality, Theology, and Health at the Duke Medical Center, and a board member of the American Council on Germany. He is currently a member of the board of Aquinas College in Nashville, Tennessee.
